Day 1

Pick up from Paro International Airport and transfer to Thimphu for Night Stay

Meet and greet at Paro International Airport and transfer to Thimphu, which is approx. 1Hrs 30Min driver from Paro. Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, occupies a valley in the country’s western interior. In addition to being the government seat, the city is known for its Buddhist sites. The massive Tashicchhoe Dzong is a fortified monastery and government palace with gold-leaf roofs. The Memorial Chorten, a whitewashed structure with a gold spire, is a revered Buddhist shrine dedicated to Bhutan’s third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Check in at Hotel and Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 2

Thimphu Full Day Sightseeing and night stay at Thimphu

After Breakfast: Visit Sightseeing Starts- 1) Durga Temple/Shiv Temple 2) Buddha Point, 3) Coronation Park, 4) Takin Zoo (National Animal of Bhutan),5) Memorial Chorten 6) Folk Heritage Museum, 7) National Painting School 8) Royal Textile Museum, 9) Handmade Paper Factory, 10) Tashicchhoe Dzong & 11) Simply Bhutan(Traditional Culture Program – Tuesday Closed)- Overnight Stay in Thimphu.

Day 3

Thimphu to excursion Punakha Sightseeing and overnight stay at Punakha

Morning transfer to Punakha, it is approximately 90 kilometers and is nearly 03Hrs driver from Thimphu. En-route visit 1) Dochu la Pass, 2) Chhimi Lhakhang, 3) Punakha Dzong, 4) Suspension Bridge (Longest Bridge in Bhutan) and overnight stay at Punakha.

Day 4

Punakha to excursion Phobjika Sightseeing and Overnight Stay at Punakha

After Breakfast: Transfer to Phobjika Valley, Vast U-shaped glacial valley and for Black- Necked Cranes. Visit Gangtey Gompa / Phobjika (3,000m/9,845ft): Another highlight of Wangdue is the beautiful Phobjika Valley or “The Valley of Black Necked Cranes”. This valley is the winter home of Black Necked Cranes (BIRD) that migrates from Tibet. This valley is one of the most beautiful and scenic ones in Bhutan. On the slope overlooking the valley is the Gangtey monastery built in 17th century and is one of the oldest and biggest monasteries of the Nyingma (Red Hat Sect) school of Buddhism & Back to Punakha & Night stay at Punakha.

 

Day 5

Punakha to transfer Paro & Overnight stay at Paro

After breakfast: Transfer to Paro – passing by Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge En Route, distancing approximately 143 km and 5 hours from Punakha. It is the site of the country’s only international airport and is also known for the many sacred sites in the area. It has a population of 39, 800 – On arrival check in at the hotel – Do Local market sightseeing – Overnight Stay at Paro.

Day 6

Paro full day Local Sightseeing or Optional – Hike to Tiger Nest Monastery and Overnight Stay at Paro

Morning Visit – 1) Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), 2) Kichu Lhakhang Monastery, 3) Drukgyal Dzong (Presently closed for Tourist), 4) Tiger Nest Monasteries (Viewpoint), 5) Ta Dzong (Paro Museum)

 

Optional – Hike to Tiger Nest Monastery (Hike uphill will take around 2/3 Hrs on way)

 

Paro Taktsang is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple complex is located in the Cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan.

A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan and is the tutelary deity of the country. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best known of the thirteen Taktsang or “tiger lair” caves in which he meditated. Night Stay at Paro.

Day 7

Excursion to Chele-la Pass sightseeing and transfer back to Paro for Night Stay

After Breakfast: excursion to Chele La (Pass): is considered to be one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. It is about an hour’s drive along a densely populated forest road. This Pass is also known to be a ‘botanical paradise’. The top of the pass bloom with rhododendrons in a variety of colors-pale pink, deep pink, burnt orange, mauve, white and scarlet.

Later transfer back to Paro visit local market for Shopping and overnight stay at Paro

Day 8

Paro to transfer Paro International Airport for departure

After breakfast: Check out from Paro Hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
